Filters and Views

How to use filters and views to contorl data

Filters

Filters are designed to control the data you see in your model. There are many situations where you don't want to see all the data you have, but only the rows that are relevant to you at the moment. For this, you can use the filter feature to display the necessary data based on available criteria. In each of the six cases, you need to specify the column that will be checked. You can add more than one filter.

💡
Please note: Filters can only be applied to value columns, not to scores.

Here is an example of filtering string values.

You can also combine multiple filtering conditions into one group. To do this, select "Add Filter Group" and then specify the required parameters. To add new filters to the group, click on the three-dot menu and add a new filter. In this case, all filtering conditions will be grouped together and applied to the model simultaneously.

After adding all the necessary filters to the appropriate columns, don't forget to save the changes you made.

Sometimes you will need filters for simple checks, other times for more convenient viewing of existing data. However, sometimes filters are needed not for a short period but for a longer stage. In such cases, creating and deleting filters repeatedly is counterproductive. For these situations and more, there is the feature called views.

Views

Views, like filters, are a way to change what you see in your model. For example, if you have many scores, it can be inconvenient to see them all at once. It might be easier to divide them into different views. This way, you have a more convenient way to switch between different groups of your scores, making them easier to analyze or modify. You can also save some of your filters in a separate view.

Information Stored with Views

When you save a view, the following information is preserved:

  1. Column order
  1. Column width
  1. Column Visibility (hidden or shown)
  1. Filters

Impact of Views

It is crucial to note that views divide your model into groups only visually. Any changes to columns or scores that you make within one view will affect the entire model, as views are not isolated structures. Views also influence the top two charts, meaning they are dependent on the current view and its filters.

By adding more subdivisions, you can easily identify key points without having to parse the entire text.

Usage Examlpe

In this example, you can see how we use two views to separate the entire model and only the group where the organization fields are filled. This allows us to see which organizations' data is already filled in, and the organizations whose data is not filled in do not affect the overall and average scores.
