Jira

How to set up Jira integration.

Set up the Jira Connector

Integrating Jira with your system allows you to seamlessly sync project management and issue tracking data. Follow the steps below to set up the Jira connector and ensure proper data integration.

Step 1: Set up Jira

Before you can integrate Jira with your system, you need to create an API token. This token will be used to securely access Jira’s API.

  1. Create an API Token: To access Jira’s API, you must generate an API token associated with your Jira account. This token is essential for securely authenticating your account and granting access to Jira's data. Please follow the instructions in this documentation. Once the token is generated, keep it safe as it will be required in the next step.

Step 2: Add Jira Integration

With your API token ready, you can now configure the Jira connector by entering the required details. This step is crucial for establishing a secure connection between your system and Jira.

  1. API Token: Enter the API token you generated in Step 1. This token is used to authenticate your account via BasicAuth, ensuring secure communication between Jira and your system.
  1. Domain: Enter the domain of your Jira account. This domain identifies your specific Jira instance and is necessary for the connector to know where to send API requests.
  1. Email: Enter the email address associated with your Jira account. This is the email you used when generating the API token. It is required for BasicAuth to verify your identity when accessing the Jira API.

To further customize your data replication, you can configure the following optional fields. These settings allow you to control which data is synced and from when, optimizing the integration according to your needs.

  1. Projects (Optional): Specify a list of Jira projects from which you want to replicate data. You can enter project names or IDs. If you leave this field empty, the connector will replicate data from all projects within your Jira account.
  1. Start Date (Optional): Define the start date for data replication in the format YYYY-MM-DDTHH:MM:SSZ. Only data created or updated after this date will be replicated. If this field is left empty, the connector will replicate all data from the earliest available point. Note that this start date is applicable only to certain streams such as Board Issues, Issue Comments, Issue Properties, Issue Remote Links, Issue Votes, Issue Watchers, Issue Worklogs, Issues, Pull Requests, and Sprint Issues. For other streams, all data will be replicated regardless of the start date.
